COLLIERS WOOD LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL

Minutes of meeting held at GJs Monday 8th December 2003

Present: Paul Thomas, Peter Dauncey, Ben Walsh, Mike Rogers, Ted Nyatanga, Joe Bettell

Apologies: Mark Greaves, Tom Walsh, Eoin Duffy, Kevin Godding

Waterlogged Pitches - Using tennis court for seniors and the larger pitch for the juniors on 6 Dec worked pretty well. May have to repeat on 13 Dec. Kids more likely to bring trainers and tracksuit bottoms as using tennis court may be half expected. Better to use a special ball for the hard surface - PT to look into purchasing a couple. An all-weather surface may be laid on the tennis court in the spring.

NB Tom, Ben & Wendy will be away 13 Dec, but referees etc have been organised.

Autumn Season - 3 sets of fixtures still to be played. Weather permitting, these will be on 13 Dec (4 Oct), 10 Jan (22 Nov) and 17 Jan (29 Nov). 24 Jan and 31 Jan can be used for Cup competition. (Possibly one date may be needed to fulfil league fixtures.)

Cup Competition - Can be completed using 5 matches, with 2 teams getting a bye into the semi-finals. Firm up details next meeting.

Spring Season will commence 7 Feb. Fixtures will be designated Wk1 etc rather than specific dates. Should we play on half-term Saturdays? YES (carried unanimously). Should we play during Easter holidays? No decision yet needed.

Squads - A few anomalies have been identified, where a player seems to be playing for a different team from the one on our records. These are being resolved.

Social Event will be at the Guardian Centre on 31 Jan (apologies for incorrect dates in previous minutes). Tickets to be produced this week, to go on sale 13 Dec. Having football on morning of 31 Jan will give chance to shift remaining tickets if not already sold out. Don't use event to award trophies, as only some kids will be able to attend.

National Tournament - Managers excited by prospect, details eagerly awaited.

Newsletter has been produced and distributed.

Date of Next Meeting 12 Jan 2004. May start a bit late, as it follows CWRA AGM.
